cd3o is developing products which implement NAVOS, allowing consumers to get better utility out of their home media libraries.
The technology to connect 'islands' of consumer electronics now exists in the PC world, and it is called Wireless LAN, or 802.11b. This technology has been used to connect PCs, not stereos and camcorders, because of a lack of appropriate interconnections and application software.
cd3o is solving this problem with NAVOS. NAVOS is a Networked Audio Visual Operating System, which will power a newgeneration of consumer products, allowing them to share music, pictures and video.
cd3o is developing products which implement NAVOS, allowing consumers to get better utility out of the media library they already own.
NAVOS allows consumers to:
- Listen to mp3s on their home stereo
- See their digital vacation pictures on their television
- Watch home movies anywhere in the house
NAVOS does this by connecting (or 'networking') products the consumer already owns, like a home stereo or a TV, to the consumer's PC. By adding Wireless LAN adapters to the PC and the stereo, the consumer can store hundreds of albums ontheir PC and listen to them on their stereo, controlling the system from any PC or with a Wireless remote-control.
