Products that allow digital music libraries to be controlled via PC or Remote Voice-Guide™ and delivered to stereo over wireless LAN.
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2003 - cd3o (pronounced letter-by-letter, see-dee-three-oh), a newly formed consumer electronics company, today announced a line of affordable wireless and wired stereo adapters at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Jan. 9-12, 2003, allowing digital music enthusiasts to stream their PC-based music library to any home stereo for high-fidelity playback.
Consumers can now navigate their MP3 and WMA collections from the PC or via a Voice-Guide™ infrared (IR) remote control. The optional Voice-Guide allows the user to select songs from a keypad guided by an electronic voice. Another unique feature is CD-DJ, which announces the song title and artist prior to the selection.
The cd3o line-up consists of three 'plug-and-play' models: the c100, an Ethernet streaming MP3 player for wired networks, the c200, a wireless LAN streaming MP3 player, and the c300, a extended range wireless LAN streaming MP3 player with digital output, are priced affordably at $149, $199 and $249 respectively. Products require an existing 802.11b or Ethernet network.
Included in the package of all three models is the network MP3 player, IR remote control, power adapter, installation and documentation CD, quick install guide and cables.
cd3o developed the players to take advantage of existing home audio and PC equipment to wirelessly stream MP3/WMA/WAV files to stereo systems, enabling consumers to manage and listen to downloaded high-quality audio throughout the home. Operating on the 802.11b wireless platform, consumers may play music from up to 300 feet away omni directionally - upstairs, downstairs, or in the back and front yards.
"The cd3o products embody exactly what digital music enthusiasts are seeking from a converged Internet and audio solution - a simple platform that gives them the freedom to listen to digital music anywhere in the home‚ not just from their desktop PCs or portable MP3 players," said Everett Roach, CEO of cd3o, based in San Diego.
" Music enthusiasts who regularly download songs from Internet sites or those with large CD libraries will particularly appreciate the capability of easily arranging and accessing their entire music collection on their PCs," said Roach. "Our innovative infrared remote with Voice-Guide makes choosing songs or play lists even more convenient for the user."
Playlists can be assembled, saved and selected for playback from the remote control or the PC. Additionally, ten one-button "Favorites" can be preset, offering consumers the convenience of quick-access to their most frequently listened-to music. Favorites and play-lists can contain individual tracks or music sorted by artist, album or genre.
